Climate pledges are great ways to make a "promise" to the climate and stick to it. These can be personal or you can make one as a group with your friends, through your school, or any community gathering. Here is how you do that:
Choose what you are passionate about: What is one thing that you want to change about the climate crisis? Choose one, practical thing that you think you can change about your daily habits. It can be something simple like making a virtual to-do list instead of using paper. It could also be something like only bringing reusable bags to the grocery store or starting a compost bin (article coming soon!) Make sure that the pledge is something you can stick to!
Write it down: Write it on paper or set a reminder on your phone. This will remind you and encourage you to stick with it!
Tell others: Some people like to post it on social media to keep themselves accountable and others like to tell a friend or family member to remind them to keep doing what they pledged! However it works for you, we are glad that you decided to make a difference!
Tell us about it: We would love to hear what you are doing personally and in your community to help solve the climate crisis! Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org with your updates! Don't forget: we have a climate strike coming up! RSVP on theearthriseproject.com/upcoming-events and we would love to see you there!
Examples of pledges:
Individual: I pledge to only use reusable bags when I go to the store.
Group: We pledge to refrain from using single-use plastics for a week.
